The Farm

This is a lifestyle farm, a hobby farm, where we soak up the tranquil ambiance, appreciate the natural beauty, get our hands dirty and delight in the bounty of fresh food we produce. In days gone by the property was a certified organic mango and macadamia farm.

Dwellings are nestled along the side of the rain-forest lined creek. While strolling around the property you will end up at the top of or mountain with spectacular views across the Mary valley and surrounding ranges. Many of the buildings, fences and features have been made from the stones found in the rich red soil that covers the property. If you’re an artist or musician bring your easel or your instrument, Stonehouse farm is bound to inspire you!

One big difference between us and a commercial farm is that we don’t practice mono-culture with rows and rows of the same species of trees surrounded by manicured land. Our fruit and nut trees are grown among the forest and we don’t spray chemicals. The wide diversity of flora and fauna keeps most things in balance and healthy. Enjoy meals directly from our vegetable garden and during mango season be ready for special treats of mango ice cream and pretty well mango everything. We have several varieties of macadamias that seem to produce right throughout the year, fresh chocolate coated macadamias are heavenly.

The Mary valley is a beautiful rural area but we are only 45 minutes away from the bustling seaside town of Noosa Heads home of spectacular beaches, fine dining and renowned for its internationally famous national park. We are also not far from Rainbow Beach which draws its name from the huge sand hills of different coloured sands. Just back from Rainbow Beach is Tin Can Bay where there is daily feeding of a local pod of wild dolphins.
